Why use a natural facial cleansing oil?
This is the starting point of any skincare routine: gentle, regular, and effective cleansing. In the morning, to remove sebum accumulated overnight. In the evening, to eliminate makeup, pollution, sunscreen, and impurities. Well-cleansed skin breathes better, absorbs skincare products better, and preserves its natural balance longer.
And yet, this is also the step most often poorly executed. Either because we use products that are too harsh (aggressive foams, sulfated gels), or because we think we can skip this step. This is where cleansing oil comes in.

What is a facial cleansing oil?
Cleansing oil is an oil specifically formulated to remove lipophilic impurities (makeup, sebum, sunscreens) without damaging the skin. Unlike a pure vegetable oil, it contains a gentle emulsifying agent of natural origin which, upon contact with water, transforms the oil into a fluid milk. This transformation makes rinsing easier, without leaving a greasy film.
It can be used alone or as the first step in double cleansing.
Why choose a natural cleansing oil?
1. For its gentleness : the natural cleansing oil respects the skin's hydrolipidic film. It does not foam, does not strip, and does not disrupt the skin microbiome.
2. For its composition : natural oils are rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins. They nourish, soothe and rebalance the skin during cleansing.
3. Avoid harsh ingredients : Many conventional cleaners contain sulfates, preservatives, or synthetic fragrances. A well-formulated natural oil is usually short on ingredients and free of controversial substances.
4. For its sensoriality : the oily texture glides over the skin, invites massage, transforms into milk... A real ritual.
At Apoticari, we have formulated a 100% natural cleansing and makeup removing oil , suitable even for the most sensitive skin.
The benefits of vegetable oils for the skin
The vegetable oils used in natural cosmetics are selected for their affinity with the skin:
- Camelina : rich in omega 3 and 6, soothing, ideal for sensitive skin
- Jojoba : regulating, similar to sebum, perfect for combination to oily skin
- Apricot kernel : illuminating, nourishing
- Sunflower : light base, well tolerated by all skin types
These oils are often cold pressed to retain all their nutrients.
Who is a cleansing oil for?
Contrary to popular belief, cleansing oil is suitable for all skin types:
- Sensitive skin : it soothes and cleanses without attacking
- Oily or acne-prone skin : it dissolves excess sebum without causing a rebound effect
- Dry or mature skin : it nourishes while cleansing
- Makeup or SPF wearers : it removes stubborn layers without rubbing
How to use it?
Apply the oil to dry skin, with dry hands
- Gently massage the face, including the eyes
- Add a little water to emulsify: the oil becomes a milk
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water
It can be used alone or followed by a gentle cleanser for double cleansing (especially if wearing makeup or SPF).
